13 Free Claude Skills for Instagram: Quick Install Guide

Everything you need to install the free Instagram skill pack for Claude and write your first Reel with it. Follow the steps in order. It takes about five minutes.

01What is this resource?

It is a free pack of 13 skills for Claude. A skill is a saved set of instructions that you run with a short command like /ig-reel. The pack also includes a few small Python helper scripts.

It is an open-source project on GitHub. I did not build it. I tested it and put the quick steps here.

02What can you do with it?

Each command does one job, in your own voice:

03Who should use it?

• Creators, freelancers and small business owners who post Reels regularly.
• Anyone who already uses Claude and wants faster content ideas and drafts.

It is not for you if you want something that posts for you. It does not post anything.

04What do you need before installing?

• A Claude account.
• Claude Code is recommended. It gives you the full pack, including the Python tools.
• Python 3 if you want the helper scripts. They need no extra packages.
• Git for the manual install.

05Installation steps

Pick one method. Method A is the easiest.

Method A: Ask Claude to install it

1. Open Claude Code.
2. Paste this message and press enter:

https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill — Install this skill, then confirm /ig-reel works.

Method B: Install manually

1. Open your terminal.
2. Run these two commands:

git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill.git
cp -r instagram-agent-skill/skills/ig-* ~/.claude/skills/

Method C: Install as a plugin

Inside Claude Code, run:

/plugin marketplace add Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill
/plugin install instagram-agent

Then set up your voice file

This tells the skills how you write, so the drafts sound like you. Copy the template, then fill it in:

mkdir -p ~/.claude/instagram
cp instagram-agent-skill/templates/voice.md ~/.claude/instagram/voice.md

06How to use it

1. Open Claude Code and type a command, such as /ig-reel, followed by your idea in plain English.
2. Read the options Claude gives you. Pick the hook you like best.
3. Edit the script so it sounds like you.
4. Record and post it yourself.
5. Run /ig-caption for the caption, and /ig-plan once a week to plan what comes next.

07Example commands

Type these inside Claude Code. Replace the topic with your own.

/ig-reel a reel about three mistakes new freelancers make with pricing

/ig-caption write the caption for the reel above

/ig-plan plan my posts for this week

The Python tools run from the skill folder. For example, to score a list of hooks you saved in hooks.txt:

python3 hookscore.py hooks.txt

08Important limitations

• It does not post for you. You publish everything yourself.
• /ig-viral reads pages at human speed in your own browser. It never asks for your password and never logs in for you.
• The AI-detection checks are local rules of thumb. They are not GPTZero or any other detector, and nothing can promise "undetectable".
• Hook scores help you compare options. They cannot predict which hook will go viral.
• Platform numbers and rules change. Check Instagram's current limits before you rely on them.
• Keyword auto-replies in DMs must go through Instagram's own tools or approved partners.
